What is an MBA

What is an MBA?

MBA stands for Master of Business Administration.

As the name suggests it is a master's level qualification. The core content typically covers business practices such as accounting, human resources, finance, marketing and operations to name a few.

Module options are often provided allowing the student to diversify and focus study in a wide variety of areas from healthcare to sports management. Check out the online MBA programs section.

MBA's are available worldwide through colleges, business schools and universities.

The time taken to complete an online MBA can vary but the typical duration is 24-27 months if studied 'full time'. An accelerated online MBA program sees course material delivered much more rapidly and intensely and thus allows students to complete an MBA in under two years.

An Executive online MBA program or 'EMBA' is tailored for busy professionals unable to meet the dual demands of work and full-on academic study. Entry requirements tend to include academic criteria and business experience is usually a prerequiste. Typical program duration is between 2 and 3 years.
